I just LOVE all the options for Live Messenger.Yesterday, I discovered you can actually very easily make an audio file your signature sound. If you go under Tools, you should see the menu and when you click, you get :
when you click add a new sound, you’ll get this dialog box where you can pick any audio and trim it up to 5 seconds and make that your signature file, i.e. that’s what your buddies would hear when you sign in. I’m already thinking of some funny audio files to record for my friends.
I just discovered another one today. Did you know that you can personalize your messenger skin and share it with the people you are chatting with? Check this out:

To do this, just mouseover the top right corner of your main window:
You’ll then be brought to this dialog where you can choose from the default skins, or browse one of your own:
