long overdue post

It’s about time for a non twitter blog update!

Things have been hectic lately so I’m really sorry that I haven’t been updating this blog. Once you get out of the habit, it gets a bit more difficult to get back on it.

So what’s been happening lately? Not much really. Work has beet alright. I’ve been thinking a bit about what I’ve been doing in the past year though and it’s been interesting. Only recently have I started to explore a bit on the other things that I enjoy doing. A bulk of it still revolves around technology though. Things like music, dancing and photography are some other interests that have been taking up my time recently. I realized that lately, I haven’t been spending my time at the office during weekends! That’s an achievement. Not that there’s too much work to that I have to come back on the weekends to finish up. Well, there is I guess I’d never run out of things to do at work so the decision to work on the weekends is entirely up to me. Ever since i started, i just never had ithe interest, or the energy to think about what else to do on the weekends. Usually, the most exciting thing that happens on my weekends is a movie marathon at cineleisure.

But i guess lately, i’ve come to realize that there are a few other things in my life that needs to be enjoyed, if only to keep me sane, or normal. :p At least if I do other things, I will get to talk about it to my non-geek friends (which i guess is as limited as the non-tech hobbies i have).

Just last weekend, I actually signed up for a crash course on salsa. It was a fun three hour activity. It reminded me a lot about my highschool days when i was a member of the dance troupe. Oh yes, we were the bunch dancing to the spice girls and mariah carey. :p Some of the best friendships i have made were those made through the dance troupe.

I’ve also been eyeing to buy this guitar. 2 or 3 more trips and i will probably buy it already. Every now and then, I get the urge to play the guitar at home. It’s always been a good outlet for relaxing. It makes me think of elementary days. I still remember the very first song I learned to play on the guitar “Ang Huling El Bimbo” by the eraserheads. I am also probably not the only one. I remember it was almost graduation time in 6th grade and the only reason we were still going to school was to practice the graduation march. So in our free time, we’d sit at an area in school and start playing and singing. I think most of my batchmates were pretty good singers so it was pretty easy to find someone to jam with.

In highschool, a few of my girl friends formed an all girl band. We’d play once a year, during the Battle of the Bands. It was a lot of fun though it was about the only time in a year where we’d go to Loreto’s studio to practice, we were always hard at work at it when we were at it. I remember asking one of the teacher’s to excuse my band mate, saying that she was called in by our prefect of discipline, just so we could practice. Yeah, some CSG president I was :p It was music class anyway! 🙂 I think we called ourselves “Thea Koras” and then “Viviene Zoe”. I only remember that Thea Koras meant “shining maidens”. I’ll have to ask Cookie what our second band name meant. I was on the drums haha probably because my brother played the drums back then also.

look at that, i’ve made an update to my personal blog! yey…
