It’s been almost 3 months since we have moved to Sweden and I have to say things have progressed faster that we have ever expected. I finally got my residence permit, a process that we thought would take 17 months. Now I can focus on integration.
Our littlest one won’t be in daycare till January so I have a few months to learn the language while starting to look for opportunities for the next step in my career.
These 3 months have been a great opportunity to adjust to a different way of living. We were fortunate enough in Singapore to have help at home to look after our kids and everyday tasks of the household. Now I understand why there is a discussion about having to choose between career or family. Is it possible to have both mom and dad chase career at the same time?
