Earlier in my career, I always aimed to work at the big MNCs because of the prestige that came with it. After 10 years of working in Singapore, having 3 children along the way, my family and I decided to move to my husband’s home town in Sweden. When I joined the workforce here, I got the opportunity to work with smaller companies where I met and got inspired by a lot of entrepreneurial people. From byBrick Development, Cool Company Skandinavien AB, to Mirado Consulting, I have met some of the most amazing developers, domain experts, business and product people within these companies, as well as at the customers that we served. I’ve been very fortunate to have been in work environments that fostered learning, creativity and a really positive work mindset, without forgetting the importance of work-life balance. 40 is closing in. Even though they say that life begins then, I’ve decided to jump the gun. I’m very excited to be taking a chance on myself and starting my own company, ItsyBit AB. I will continue working as a developer consultant. Maybe in the long run something bigger will come out of it, but for now I’m very happy to be starting with this one small bit. #consulting
