The next thing on my list

The great thing about being a geek is that you’ll always have 10 chances to be a certain age. During my trip back from a recent vacation, I bought 2 books at the airport: “Bringing Down the House” and “The Next Thing on My List”. The first one was because it was based on the movie “21”, which I had always wanted to see. I got to finish the first book and started a bit on the second. But ever since I got back, I haven’t been able to pick it back up.

It’s been quite hectic at work lately and I guess I’ve been trying to list down the things that I needed to do just to keep track of all of it, and yes it is true that getting to cross things off a list makes you feel a lot better about yourself. But it never ends. As the day goes by, for every one item I get to cross out, it seems I need to add another 3 more. 😐

I was just spacing out a few minutes ago, and started thinking about how I don’t think I’ve really accomplished much at my age. When I was a kid, I had the goal of being a millionaire and getting married by the age of 25. (Thank goodness I still have my second chance coming up in a few years) I realize I get a little bit more done when I have that list. So I’ve decided that I’m going to start working on a list of things to do before I turn 21h, based on the two books I was reading on the way back from a trip that opened my eyes to the fact that there is more to life than just work. I have a few things in mind already, but I guess I will put a bit more thinking into it. I actually did have a similar list for some new year a while back. That’s when I got myself a job outside the country. Yes, I think i should work on that list soon, before I turn 21.
